Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of both charts and provided relevant comparisons. The overview clearly highlights the most significant trends, such as the popularity of private studios and the age-related preferences for dance styles. You have also included specific data points to support your descriptions. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are accurate; for instance, ensure the distinction between the age groups is consistently clear. The report is well-structured and covers all requirements of the prompt effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. You have used a variety of cohesive devices such as 'In terms of', 'In contrast', and 'On the other hand' to link your paragraphs and sentences effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two different charts. The flow of information is smooth, and the relationship between the data and your analysis is easy to follow. There is no evidence of mechanical or repetitive use of linking words, which contributes to a coherent and professional tone.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your points clearly. Phrases like 'lowest segment', 'accounted for', and 'prefer to attend' are used accurately. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'claases' (spelling) and 'modern dance type is mostly prefered' (should be 'preferred'). While you have a good grasp of vocabulary, incorporating more precise collocations or varied synonyms for 'students' or 'people' would enhance the sophistication of your writing. Overall, the vocabulary is adequate for the task and does not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'The pie chart delineate' (subject-verb agreement) and 'types of dance classes are currently attending' (passive voice needed). Additionally, '11-16 years old people' is slightly awkward phrasing. However, these errors do not impede the reader's understanding of the data. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that passive constructions are formed correctly when describing data trends. Your control over punctuation is generally good, and the sentences are mostly clear.
