Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by reporting on both the location and the types of dance classes. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the popularity of private studios and the age-related trends in dance styles. However, the analysis could be improved by ensuring that all data points are accurate and clearly compared. For instance, when discussing the tap classes, you mention 'between 410 and 430', which is a bit vague. It is better to be precise with the data provided in the charts. Overall, the response is relevant and provides a clear overview of the information presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices like 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude with' to link ideas. However, some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'While in other hand' and 'More than that'. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure they flow more naturally within the sentences. Additionally, the referencing could be smoother; for example, 'the two types' is slightly ambiguous without explicitly stating you are referring to the age groups.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to describe the charts, using terms like 'private studios', 'community halls', and 'rate'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and phrasing, such as 'the charts represents' (should be 'represent') and 'the tap classe' (spelling error). You also rely on some repetitive structures when describing the data. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'predominant', 'account for', or 'a significant proportion', rather than just stating the percentages directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('the majority of the dance classes takes place' should be 'take place') and punctuation errors (e.g., missing spaces after commas like 'Moreover,The'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct spacing after punctuation will significantly improve your accuracy.
