Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of both the pie and bar charts. You successfully highlight the highest and lowest categories for location and make relevant comparisons between age groups for the dance types. However, the overview is slightly weak; it lacks a clear summary of the most significant trends. For instance, while you mention the highest percentage for location, you could have more clearly contrasted the overall popularity of dance types across the two age groups. The data is generally accurate, but the presentation could be more analytical to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'However' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the sentence 'Although it describe the three different type of dances by age group the highest number of students are in ballet and their is under 11' is grammatically disjointed and lacks clear punctuation, which affects the overall coherence. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to describe the charts clearly. You use terms like 'proportion', 'categories', and 'significant number' appropriately. However, there are several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'illlustrates', 'collage-base' (likely meant 'college-based'), and 'as compare in' (should be 'compared to'). These errors do not impede communication, but they limit your score. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms related to data description.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('charts illlustrates', 'it describe'), incorrect use of articles, and awkward sentence construction ('their is under 11'). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 5.5–6.0 range. To progress, focus on consistent subject-verb agreement and refining your use of prepositions and articles in comparative sentences.
