Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both charts and provided relevant comparisons. You covered the location data and the age-group breakdown for dance types. However, the response lacks a clear overview that synthesizes the information effectively. The summary paragraph at the end is a good attempt, but it would be better placed as an introduction or a distinct overview paragraph. Additionally, some data reporting is slightly imprecise, such as saying 'about 48%' when the chart is clear. To reach a higher band, ensure you group data logically and provide a more cohesive summary of the overall trends at the start.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However' and 'While', to connect ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between locations feels abrupt. The use of cohesive devices could be more varied and sophisticated to improve the overall progression of the text. Ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence to guide the reader through the data points.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'illustrates', 'depicts', and 'proportion'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and spelling, such as 'coloumn' instead of 'column', 'Collage-based' instead of 'College-based', and 'atend' instead of 'attend'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you proofread for common spelling mistakes. Using a wider variety of synonyms for 'increase' or 'popular' would also enhance your lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'The highest use of Private studios by students for about 48%' (missing a verb) and 'Modern classes are the popular among 11-16 aged group' (incorrect article usage). Additionally, the phrase 'almost doubled then 11-16' is grammatically awkward. To achieve a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will significantly improve your score in this criterion.
