Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of both charts. You have successfully selected key data points, such as the 48% for private studios and the popularity of ballet among younger students. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, you mention 'tap has least fraction of students' without clearly referencing the specific age groups or the overall trend. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more explicit and that the overview clearly synthesizes the most significant trends rather than just listing data points. The summary is present but could be more analytical.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each chart, and a concluding overview. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In contrast', which help the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as 'community halls and other locations have fraction of 18%'. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that pronouns or references clearly point back to the subject would enhance the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'categories', and 'learners'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'highest proportion of share is covering by' (should be 'is covered by') and 'has least fraction of students' (should be 'the smallest proportion'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on collocations and ensure that you are using nouns and verbs in their correct forms within the context of data reporting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'college-based studios has' (should be 'have') and 'most popular location among all other dance classes location'. Additionally, there are issues with prepositions and missing articles, such as 'in range from 400 to 500'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the information. Increasing your control over basic grammatical structures will help improve your score.
