Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the charts. However, the reporting is inconsistent and contains inaccuracies. For example, the statement that 'community hall and others reduced its share by 30%' is unclear and does not accurately reflect the data. The comparison between age groups is attempted, but the phrasing is often confusing, such as 'dropped down in 11-16 age people b to half of under-11 students'. While the key features are selected, the lack of clarity in data presentation and some misinterpretations of the figures prevent a higher score. The overview is present but lacks precision.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response uses paragraphing, but the structure is disjointed. The use of headings like 'Body 1' and 'Body 2' is inappropriate for an IELTS essay. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'As we move forward' and 'In comparison'. The progression of ideas is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of logical flow between sentences. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the different dance types and age groups.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'college bare studios' (likely meant 'college-based'), 'highest ratio of students', and 'remained dominaie'. The student struggles to use precise terminology to describe data, relying on basic verbs like 'reduced', 'constitute', and 'crossed'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'lasses', 'dominaie') restrict the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex structures, but the accuracy is poor. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction. For instance, 'the majority of proportion was constituted by' is grammatically awkward, and 'the highest number average of student who got admission in ballet dance class of was under 11-students' is syntactically broken. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of hyphens and sentence fragments. These errors frequently impede the reader's understanding of the data being presented.
