The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The charts illustrate information on the location, such as private studios, community hall and other, school halls and college-based studios and types of dance classses young individuals in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Overall, it is evident that the private studios had the highest percentage of dance classes, while college-based studios had the lowest percentage. Moreover, the Ballet accounted for the higest number of students under age of 11, whereas modern accounted for the lowest number of students for the same age group. In addition, the highest number of students with the age 11-16 accounted for modern dances and the lowest for ballet.

After analysing the chart, it is clear that private studios had the highest of 48 percent of dance classes whereas, the schools had the second highest of 24 percent of classes. In addition, community had the 18 percent of classes and college-based had the lowest percentegae, at 10 percent.

Furthermore, 600 students age under 11 participated in the ballet which decreased by half for students age 11-16. In contrast, around 450 students age under 11 attended the tap classes and approximately 4200 number of students age 11-16 attended the same type of classes. 300 numer of students age under 11 participated in the modern classes which is increased to 5200 for the students age 11-16
