IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie and line chart illustrates the proportion of youngsters takes part in three different dance classes according to 4 distinct locations in one town of Australia. It is clearly noticeable that in pie chart the private studio is very popular modes whereas, in line graph the under 11 age students are more likely to enrolled in ballet dance.

To commence with, according to pie chart the private studio has accounted just under a half which is about 48%. In the contrast, the location of dance class which has organised in community hall and other, school hall (after-school) ratio is somewhere vicinity to each other, approximatley 18% and 24%, respectively. Moreover, college-based studio in a town of Australia has minimal number, 10%.

Moving towards the line graph, the under 11 young age group, 600 students take part in ballet dance whereas, their ratio drop in next two dances, which is 450 and 300 each. However, the group age of 11-16 years small children showed opposite trend to that of under 11 age group. To add to it, modern dance type is about 520 and this figure decreases to 420 and 300 in remaing dance types.
