The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given diagram has two charts depicting information about the places and kinds of dance lessons young generation of a town of Australia is currently pursuing.
In terms of location, private studios occupy the biggest piece of the pie with almost 48%. Followed by private arrangements, school halls seem to be the second most favourite place with a substantial 24%, though it is after school. Along with chools, college-based studios are also used by 10% of the dancers while community halls and other places make the rest of the pie which is 18%.
The types of dance classes have their own variety in terms of number of students. ballet seems to be the most demanded type of dance among young dancers under the age of 11 with about 600 students. Ballet is followed by tap dance which has taken nearly 450 students and is than followed by modern dancing with about 300 pupils. Dance learners of and above the age of 11 seem to prioritize modern way of dancing as compared to classical ballet as the first choice taking more than 500 students. Followed by modern dancing is tap, the second most chosen dance type with 400 students and is ahead of the less popular type among 11-16 age group i.e ballet with around 300 students.
