The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The pie chart illustrates data on the venues of dance classes, whereas the bar graph demonstrates the styles of dance adopt by young people in Australia.
Overall, it can be seen that private studios are the most popular location comprising almost half of the share, while quater of students are visiting school halls. Ballet and Modern dancing are more popular among students under 11 and 11-16, respectively. Tap dance comprises relatively equal number of students of both categories.
Looking at the location of dance classes, private studios are allocated for roughly half of the proportion at 48%, making it by far the most significance venue. The school halls are attended by almost quarter of the students with 24%, while college-based studios and community halls & other venues accounted for 10% and 18%, respectively.
In terms of dancing styles, ballet dance is mostly saturated by younger students under 11, comprising 600 students, whereas Modern dance is widely popular among students between 11 and 16. The Tap dance has relatively equal number of students from both age categories, enrolling approximately 450 and 420 students of age 11 and between 11 and 16.
