The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The pie and bar charts depict the locations and three types of dance courses respectively in one Australian town. An overview of the pie chart reveals that the private studios are the dominant location, while the college-based location demonstrates the lowest one. It is clear from the bar chart that the Ballet and Tap dance classes are mostly popular among under-11-year-old attendees, while the Modern dance class is mostly filled by the other age group.
According to the pie chart, private studios account for the maximum percentage at 48%, whereas college-based studios constitute the minimum proportion with approximately five times less than private studios. The school halls are 6% more than the community halls & others (24% as opposed to 18%).
Regarding the bar chart, the number of under 11 attendees in the Ballet class is twice as much as the 11-16-year-old students, with 600 and 300 respectively. Likewise, in the Tap class, the under-11 age group outnumbers the other age group by almost 20 students.
