IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The pie chart illustrates the information about the location of dance classes in a town in Australia. The bar graph show the information about types of dance classes by age group.

Overall, the figure of private studios account a larger portion, while the portion of ballet has large number of students.

Firstly, private studios is the one who has bigger percentage in pie chart 48%. Besides, college-based studios constitute a minimum proportion which is five time less than private studios. Moreover, the figureof community hallls and others is 18% which is 8% bigger than college-based studios. Furthermore, the school halls are 6% more than the community halls and other.

On the other hand, under 11 studends in the ballet classes account for a portion of 600 students, while the 11-16 age group of students has 300 students which is two times smaller than under 11 age group students. In addition, there are 450 under 11 students in tap classes. On the other side, the age group of 11-16 is much smaller 425. Additionally, the modern classes save 525 students in 11-16 age group, while under 11 age group students is 1.8 times smaller than 11-16 age group students.
