The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The provided charts illustrate the location and types of dance classes currently attended by young people in a town in Australia.
Private studios were most attended location by youngsters, whereas college-based studios were accounted for smallest proportion. Children under 11 age mostly participated in Ballet. In addition, those aged 11 to 16 mostly attended modern dance classes.
In more depth, the most visited studio is private studio accounted for 48%. School halls represented 24% , whereas community halls and other venues accounted for 18%. In contrast, College-based studios were constituted for the smallest proportion, at only 10%.
In terms of dance classes, the number of students in Ballet under the age of 11 were 600, and age from 11 to 16 were 300. For Tap, around 450 students of under the age of 11 attended the class, compared with 420 students aged 11-16. In contrast, modern dance class students were around 300 of under the age of 11, and 520 were from 11-16 age.
