The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The pie chart illustrates the proportion of the location of dance class and bar graph compares the types of dance by age group among the young individuals in a town in Australia.

Overall, it is evident that the largest proportion of teenagers chose private studios, whereas college-based studios represented the lowest share. Additionally, students under 11 mostly preferred ballet dancing, while the maximum number of 11-6 age bracket students chose modern dancing.

Looking first at the location of dance classes, private studios accounted for 48%, making it the largest proportion, while college-based studios remained only at 10%, making it the lowest. Additionally, community halls and other buildings stood at 18% , and school halls after schooling represented 24% of engagement.

Turning to the types of dance classes based on age group, 600 students, under 11, enrolled in ballet form of dancing, which includes only 300 students that aged between 11-16. Regarding tap dancing, under 11 stood at approximately 450 participants, while students between 11-16 age bracket accounted for roughly 425. Furthermore, maximum number of students who aged between 11-16 preferred modern form of dancing.
