The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart illustrates the location of dance classes in percentage while the bar chart shows the type of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending by age group.
Overall, majority of the young people attend dance classes in private studios. Whereas, college-based studios have the least proportion of dance classes. For the types of dance classes, the students of under 11 years of age has the most participation in ballet dance. However, most of the students of age group between 11 and 16 shown interest in modern dance.
In terms of location, 48% of dance classes are held in private studios followed by school halls which is 24%. Community halls and other had the proportion of 18% whereas college-based studios have only 10% of dance classes.
Apart from locations, 600 students of under 11 years of age shown interest in ballet dance classes, around 450 in tap dance classes and 300 attended modern dance classes. Whereas, 300 students of age group between 11 and 16 shown interest in ballet, nearly 420 in tap dance classes and just above 510 students in modern dance classes.
