The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart presents the information about the different locations of dance classes of young people, which are held in a town in Australia. The bar chart illustrates the types of dance classes by two age groups.

Overall, most of the dance classes held in private studios while least in college-based studios. In two types of dance classes, there were more children under 11 years, but in one of the class the children between age 11 to 16 years were more.

In private studios, 48 percent of the classes are held, while 24 percent are held in school halls, which conduct dance sessions after school. About 18 percent dancing sessions are held in community halls and other places, meanwhile the least of them occur in college-based studios.

In Ballet type dancing class there are around 600 children under 11 year old, and half of them are older than 11 years about 300 students. In the Tap dancing class, the number of students are slightly similar, around 400. In the modern dancing class there are more students older than 11 years old around 500, but only 300 students under 11 year age.
