IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart illustrates the location of dance classes getting attended by number of students while bar chart shows the types of dance classes getitng attended by people of specific age group.
Overall, it is clear from pie chart that private studios accounted for having largest proportion of dance classes while college-based studios represented the lowest.Turning to the bar chart, the highest number of students under 11 has been shown attending ballet dance classes while students between the age seemed to be more interested in attending modern dance classes.
Looking first at pie chart, the private studios recored the highest proportion of 48% of total locations of dance classes, following by school halls which represented 24%.Regarding the remaining locations, community halls and other location accounted for 18% while lowest has been recorded for college-based studios as 10%.
Considering bar chart, the number of students between age 11-16 has been shown in attending more modern dance classes which recorded as 500, while lowest has been recorded in ballet for 300.In opposite to that the students under 11 years has more participants in ballet dance classes having figure stood at 600 while lowest has been shown in modern dance classes respresenting 300 students.However, number of students under 11 attending tap dance classes, were slightly higher in comparision to students of other age group.
