The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The bar chart illustrates the number of students in Australia divided into 2 categories of age attending 3 different types of dance classes (Ballet, Tap, and Modern).The pie chart demonstrates the percentages of 4 different locations of dance classes in Australia.

Overall, most popular type of dance classes are Ballet in Under 11 age group and Modern in 11-16 age group respectively. The private studios are in largest proportion of location while College based studios are least in terms of location for dance classes.

In Under 11 age group, the most popular type of dance class is Ballet with around 600 students, followed closely by Tap dance type in which there are nearly 450 students. Modern dance type classes remains less attracted by this age group with only 300 students. The age group of 11-16 mostly goes to Modern type dance classes where they are roughly 520 in number. The Tap dance type remains moderate attraction to them with around 420 students. The least liked dance type in these students is Ballet with only 300 students.

In prespective of locations, Private studios are of highest percentage with 48% of all locations. School halls are on the second priority with percentage of 24%. Community halls and other locations are in demand in mild manner with 18% of locations while the least proportion is of College based studios with only 10% of total.
