The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart illustrates the data regarding the location of dance classes and bar plot depicts the kind of dance classes by age group under 11 and from 11-16 attended by the residents of a village in Australia.
Overall, there are four locations shown by the chart where the dance classes held. Among them, the largest proportion goes to private studios which is 48%. The second plot shows the types of dance classes and number of students who attend the classes. Ballet class has the highest number of pupils.
To initiate with the location of dance classes, majority of classes held in private studios which account for 48% followed by 24% in school halls and 18% community halls and others with 10%, the least one in college based studios.
Moving on to the types of dance classes, Approximately 600 students which are under 11 age and 300 from 11-16 are taking Ballet classes. Near about 450 students aged below 11 and close to the 420 aged from 11 to 16 are taking ballet classes. Finally the last type, modern classes are taken by 520 students which are in the range of 11 to 16 age group, and 300 age below 11.
