The charts below give information on the location and types of dance classes young people in a town in Australia are currently attending.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart and the bar graph below provide information on the location and the different types of dance classes that young individuals are taking part in, in an australian city.

Overall, private studios top the list while college-based studios are the least preffered location of dance classes, with community hall and school hall contributing almost equal amounts in the location preference respectively. In addition, Ballet is the most liked dance form in the young childrens, while, modern dance is popular in adolescents.

Firstly, private studios are the most choosen location by individuals with 48% in its share, whereas college-based studios are generally discarded by students as a location since it contributes only 10%. Community halls and School halls contrbute a significant amount in total with 18% and 24% respectively.

Secondly, the types of dance form is important to children as they want to learn what they really like. Ballet is significantly preffered by individuals under the ages of 11 with them being 600 in number, whereas, only 50% of the children in age group 11 to 16 like Ballet. Tap as a dance class is equally liked by both the age groups with the under 11 age group slightly inclined towards it more than the 11-16 age group. Modern dance class is opted more by elder individuals with slightly greater than 500 in number and the younger children preffering it less at 300 in number.
