Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to cover both charts, describing the location of dance classes and the types of dance classes by age group. However, there are significant inaccuracies in data reporting. For instance, the student states that '620 students do this dance at the age 11 to 16' for ballet, whereas the chart shows approximately 300. Similarly, the interpretation of the data contains confusion regarding age groups and values. While an overview is attempted, the lack of accurate data selection and reporting prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Ideas are present, but the misreading of the visual data impacts the overall task fulfillment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text is divided into paragraphs, attempting to separate the two charts (location and types of dance classes). However, the overall progression is disjointed and lacks logical flow. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', and 'Belong this'. Referencing is frequently unclear, and sentences often feel disconnected rather than forming a cohesive argument or description. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion requires significant improvement to guide the reader smoothly through the data.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The lexical range is limited and basic, with frequent word choice errors and unnatural collocations such as 'site and category of dance classes for tennagers', 'private studio available in several sites', and 'after school teacher has practice dance classes'. Spelling and word formation errors are noticeable throughout the text (e.g., 'tennagers', 'attention'). While some topic-related vocabulary is attempted, the inaccuracies and limited flexibility restrict the score to this band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The writing relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex or longer sentences are frequently faulty (e.g., 'The pie chart illustrate the proportion... are at present attention'). There are persistent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('The pie chart illustrate', 'a lot of sites has available'), incorrect prepositions ('at the age 11 to 16'), and tense inconsistencies ('has been more popular'). These errors occur frequently and occasionally impede clear communication of the intended meaning.
