Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all parts of the visual data, presenting an overview alongside key features and comparisons. For instance, the student correctly identifies the leading location for dance classes at 48% and contrasts the popularity of ballet among younger children against modern dance among older participants. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed or lack full extension; for example, the mention of the pie chart in the opening sentence is grammatically incomplete ('in a town of Australia'), and some figures are stated without deeper analytical commentary. To reach the next band level, all reported trends should be fully elaborated with precise comparisons throughout the body paragraphs while maintaining strict accuracy to the prompt's visual data.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear division into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing location and types of classes respectively, and a brief concluding summary. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader through the data, such as 'Firstly', 'Regarding the', and 'To sum up'. However, cohesion occasionally feels mechanical or repetitive, and referencing is sometimes awkward, as seen in the phrase 'in this class 600 hundred students are enrolled and modern class is very popular'. For higher bands, the writer needs to employ a wider and more flexible range of cohesive devices without over-relying on basic transitional markers, ensuring smoother transitions between sentences and ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'larger proportion', 'participants', and 'enrolled'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For instance, writing 'classes held at college based studios' rather than 'held in' or 'located in', and awkward phrasing like 'young children ballet dance is very famous'. Additionally, there are minor lexical slips such as '600 hundred students'. To achieve a higher band, the vocabulary must demonstrate greater precision, natural collocation, and control over less common lexical items related to statistical reporting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writing exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to vary sentence structures when reporting data. There are, however, several grammatical errors and awkward structural patterns present. Examples include missing articles ('gives information about location', 'largest proportion of dance classes location'), preposition errors ('in a town of Australia'), and run-on compound structures joined loosely with coordinating conjunctions (e.g., 'among the young children ballet dance is very famous and in this class 600 hundred students are enrolled and modern class is very popular...'). These errors occasionally disrupt the flow of reading, though they rarely impede overall communication. To move up, the student needs to produce a higher frequency of error-free complex sentences with accurate punctuation and article usage.
