Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 141 words instead of the required 150 words (with 13 words copied directly from the prompt). While the student attempts to present an overview and mention data from both charts, the information is presented in a fragmented, confusing manner. For instance, the sentence "while the dance classes for young people are highest is private studios 48% and in under age of people 11 - 16 ballet 600 student is involes" confuses location data with age group data and misreads the statistics. Key trends are poorly selected and inadequately developed, reflecting a partial and confused response to the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation into paragraphs, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as starting a body paragraph with "In other hand," which is a misuse of the transition phrase. Referencing is frequently unclear, and sentences often lack logical connection, making the text difficult to follow. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is weak and repetitive, preventing any smooth progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, showing a limited range that is only minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word form and choice, such as "involes" instead of involved, and awkward phrasing like "slighty students decreases and increases." Spelling and word-formation errors occur frequently and sometimes cause difficulty for the reader in understanding the precise meaning of the data being reported.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mainly of simple structures or faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense usage, agreement, and prepositions, such as "the age of under 11 the ballet was 600 students are present" and "rose the under 11-16 the modern was 502 students are increases." These frequent grammatical errors cause significant strain and difficulty for the reader throughout the text.
