Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features of both the location and types of dance classes. An overview is present, noting that private studios are the most popular location. However, some aspects are under-developed or inaccurately reported. For instance, the claim that 'tap is least trending class' overlooks the fact that ballet under 11 is 600, while modern is 520, but tap spans both age groups solidly; furthermore, the details regarding age groups and class types are slightly generalized. Key comparisons are made, but data selection could have been sharper to highlight the most striking differences between age cohorts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from an introductory statement, through an overview, to body paragraphs dedicated separately to locations and types of dance classes. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different visual datasets. However, cohesion at the sentence level is occasionally mechanical or faulty, such as the awkward transition 'If we talk about the types of dance clases,' and some referencing errors like 'its proportion' referring back to 'private studios' (plural noun with singular pronoun).
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully communicating general trends with phrases like 'moderately popular' and 'constitute almost half'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('balat', 'clases', 'preffered', 'preffer') and some awkward word choices or collocations ('least trending class', 'in a terms of percentage', 'in trend in the youngsters'). These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score, showing an attempt at less common vocabulary that lacks full precision and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like concessive clauses ('While school halls are used by quarter...') and relative constructions. There are some grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('attended by fewest', 'used by quarter', 'attend tap class'), subject-verb agreement slips ('ballet and modern dance is'), and preposition misuse ('in a terms of'). Nonetheless, these errors are relatively infrequent and rarely impede overall communication, maintaining clear control over basic punctuation and sentence boundaries.
