Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the two chart topics and give a relevant overview: under-11s lead in ballet and tap, while 11–16-year-olds lead in modern. You also report all four venue percentages and most class figures accurately; the tap figure for the older group is slightly different from the chart, but this is a minor discrepancy. However, the overview is brief and the comparisons are not developed—for example, you could highlight private studios as the most common venue and college-based studios as the least common. The response also contains fewer than the required 150 words, so some key features remain under-reported. A fuller summary with clearer comparisons would address the task more completely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure, moving from an introduction and overview to venue figures and then age-group figures. This gives the reader some organisation, and words such as “Overall,” “To begin with” and “Moreover” signal transitions. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the venue information is presented as a list, and the final paragraph combines several figures without explaining their comparisons. Some linking is awkward or incorrectly punctuated, as in “Moreover, the under 11 dance learners” and “While, there are 10%...”. Use complete topic sentences and group related comparisons—for instance, compare the two age groups by dance style—to make the progression clearer and reduce reliance on basic connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “age group,” “community halls,” “private studios” and the dance-style names, so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “dance classes students” and repeated uses of “figure.” Spelling errors including “modren,” “collage” and “stuios” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “the classes taken in community halls are 18%”; a more precise expression would be “18% of classes are held in community halls.” Build a small set of accurate terms for describing proportions, venues and participation, and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences rely on simple structures, and attempts to combine ideas often produce errors that make the writing less clear. For example, “The chart illustrate” has subject–verb disagreement, while “under 11 kids takes” has both agreement and verb-form problems. The sentence beginning “Overall, there are three type...” also has a plural error and an incomplete comparison structure. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention: several clauses are joined with commas or begin with “While” without a complete main clause. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then use controlled comparisons such as “Under-11s took more ballet classes than 11–16-year-olds.” Check agreement, articles and plural forms systematically.
