Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both charts and give a clear overview: private studios account for the largest share, and ballet is strongest among under-11s while modern is strongest among older students. Most location figures are reported accurately. However, the overview misorders the locations: school halls (24%) are more common than community halls (18%), not the reverse. The comparison of dance types is also incomplete: you give the under-11 figures and the older group’s modern figure, but omit its ballet and tap numbers, which would show that tap is close between the groups and ballet is more popular among younger children. This addresses the task well overall, with some key comparisons less fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a sensible overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the location and age-group charts. This makes the main topics easy to identify. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “After that,” and “Similarly” help guide the reader, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “It is followed by Community halls and College based studios” does not clearly distinguish the two successive shares, and the final paragraph ends after describing modern classes among teenagers without completing the comparison. Use clearer sequencing and parallel comparisons, and ensure each paragraph develops its point fully. These changes would make the progression more consistently smooth.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “popular,” “followed by,” and “approximately,” so the charts remain understandable. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the description less natural: “biggest market” and “biggest ratio” are not suitable ways to describe chart shares, while “top choose” and “contain about 450 students” are awkward. There are also spelling errors such as “Mordern,” “folllowed,” and “Comunity.” Aim for precise chart language and check spelling carefully. The range is adequate for the task, but more accurate and natural phrasing is needed for greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “while” and a relative clause in the introduction. The main information is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “the vertical bar charts outlines” has subject–verb disagreement, and “Ballet classes is” should use a plural verb. Articles and number forms are also inconsistent in phrases such as “the under 11 children” and “the two age groups (under 11 year and teenagers).” Several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation, particularly around “market. After that” and “students .While.” Review agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
