Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover both charts and give a clear overview: private studios are the largest location, while ballet is most popular among under-11s and modern dance among 11–16-year-olds. Most figures are accurately reported, including the 48% share for private studios and the approximate student totals for each dance type. The location figures are also generally well selected, although school halls are shown as 24%, not 25%, and the overview could compare the age groups more explicitly—for example, noting that ballet declines with age while modern rises. These are small limitations in an otherwise relevant, well-supported summary. To strengthen it further, make the key contrasts more precise and avoid describing the participants as “teens” when the chart includes children under 11.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on locations, and a paragraph comparing dance types by age. The progression from the broad patterns to supporting figures is easy to follow, and phrases such as “Overall” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in linking ideas. However, cohesion is occasionally mechanical, and some references are unclear: “the other chart” and “these type of classes” could be more precise. The location paragraph also strings several figures together in one sentence. Use clearer comparisons and vary sentence connections so the relationships between figures are more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “accounted for,” “proportion,” “categorized,” and “interested in,” so the main information is communicated clearly. There are also attempts at more formal reporting language, such as “comprised” and “utilized,” though some choices are unnatural or imprecise in context: classes are not “utilized,” and “the ballet” is less suitable than “ballet classes.” Spelling and word-form slips such as “aproximately” and “childrens” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations used in data description, and avoid repeating “kids” and “teens”; “students” or “participants” would be more appropriate and consistent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “which are categorized into two age groups” and a contrast introduced by “whereas.” The meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Dance classes location are not distributed equally” has problems with noun structure and subject–verb agreement, while “the school halls … accounts for 25%” does not agree with its plural subject. There are also article and plural issues in “the Ballet” and “300 childrens,” and the sentence beginning “They were approximately 520 kids” lacks a clear grammatical reference. Check agreement, articles, and sentence construction, especially when combining several figures.
