Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You cover both charts and provide a clear overview of the main patterns: private studios are the most common location, while college-based studios are the least common, and preferences differ by age group. Most figures are accurately reported, including the location percentages and the approximate values for the older group. However, there is one important numerical error: for children under 11, tap is about 450 and modern about 300, but you write that modern has 450 and tap 300. Your overview also says modern is the most preferred by the older group, which is supported by the chart. To strengthen the response further, check every figure against the chart and make comparisons more precise, especially the similar tap totals across the two age groups.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview, separate discussion of location and age-group data, and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader identify the two chart topics. However, progression is weakened by repetition: the location percentages are reported in both the overview and the next paragraph, and the conclusion repeats that private studios lead and college-based studios are least common. Linking words such as “moreover,” “however,” and “while” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. The final paragraph also restates earlier points rather than adding a useful comparison. Group the key location figures once, then organise the dance-type comparisons by age group and use clearer references between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “bar graph,” “age group,” “private studios,” and “least,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “ballet counseder the least facinatind dance type” does not clearly express that ballet is least popular among older students, while “classes are perform” is not a natural way to describe where classes take place. Spelling errors such as “preffer,” “persent,” “intresting,” and “studious” are frequent and reduce clarity. Build a reliable set of chart-description phrases, and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including comparisons introduced by “while,” “however,” and “moreover.” Nevertheless, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently across basic sentence patterns. For example, “The below pie chart represent” has subject–verb disagreement, while “Another bar graph give information” repeats this problem. Phrases such as “Tap have like by 420” and “where around 520 children are in modern dance classes” show faulty verb forms and sentence construction. Articles, plurals, and punctuation are also inconsistent, and some sentences run together without clear boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns first, then use a few controlled comparative clauses rather than combining several ideas in one sentence.
