Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both charts and identify several important features: private studios are the largest location category at 48%, college-based studios are the smallest at 10%, and the preferred dance styles differ by age group. Most figures are reported accurately, including the location percentages and the under-11 ballet figure. However, some comparisons are incomplete: you do not give the under-11 modern figure or clearly compare the two age groups’ choices across all three styles. The overview also says the “rest” choose community and school halls, overlooking college-based studios, and describes ballet as most common overall without specifying that this applies only to the younger group. A clearer, more complete overview and fuller comparisons would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about locations and then dance styles. This helps the reader identify the two chart topics. However, progression is weakened by repetition: the 48% figure for private studios appears in both the overview and the following paragraph, while the overview’s statement about the “rest” is imprecise. Some transitions, such as “Moving to the bar graph,” are functional but mechanical, and the final paragraph runs together several comparisons without clear sentence boundaries. Organise the details into more clearly separated comparisons, avoid repeating figures, and use accurate referencing so each point connects smoothly to the relevant age group.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “selected,” “choose,” and “number of students,” and you attempt to vary the wording for the two charts. However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make the text harder to read, for example “Austrailia,” “paractise,” “studois,” “modren,” and “cildren.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “make 18% in this regard” and “learning loation.” Repetition of “choose” and “dance type” limits the range. Build a reliable set of accurate terms for describing proportions and preferences, and check spelling carefully; for example, use “account for” when reporting a percentage and “attend” or “take classes” for participation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the main meaning is generally recoverable. However, sentence control is inconsistent. The opening sentence lacks a space after the full stop, and the final sentence joins several ideas without clear punctuation: “...choosing Tap ony 3000 of them choose ballet.” There are also errors in sentence structure and agreement, such as “children between age of 11 to 16 years chose,” and missing or incorrect articles and prepositions in phrases such as “with age under 11 years.” Most sentences follow similar basic patterns, so the range is limited. Practise forming complete, clearly punctuated sentences and use consistent structures such as “Among children aged…” and “The figure for… was…”
