Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover both charts and provide a clear overview: private studios account for the largest share, while ballet leads among under-11s and modern is most popular among 11–16-year-olds. The main comparisons are supported with relevant figures, including 48%, 24% and 10% for locations, and the contrast between 600 and 300 ballet students. You also identify tap as attracting similar numbers in both age groups. This is a well-focused summary of the key features. To make the reporting more precise, include the community-hall figure in the overview or compare all four locations more explicitly, and state the tap figures more accurately (about 450 and 420 rather than simply “more than 400”).
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a concise overview, a paragraph on locations and a paragraph comparing dance types. This makes the two chart topics easy to follow, and transitions such as “Additionally,” “Followed by” and “Almost” help signal relationships. However, some linking is mechanical or awkward, particularly “Followed by private studios, is the school halls,” and the final paragraph packs several comparisons together without consistently guiding the reader through them. Use clearer comparison markers such as “By contrast” and “whereas,” and make each sentence’s subject explicit. This would improve the flow and cohesion while preserving the useful paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “share,” “attended” and “popular,” and the meaning is generally clear. However, several choices are informal or imprecise for an academic chart summary: “go-to class,” “kids,” “biggest share” and “learn the art of dance.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “generes,” “prople,” “bothe” and “numbe,” which reduce accuracy. Some phrases are repetitive, especially “dance class” and “students.” Aim for precise, neutral reporting language and check spelling carefully; this would make the vocabulary more controlled and appropriate to the task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, and most of the comparisons remain understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur. The introduction has agreement problems in “these charts also gives,” and the overview’s “Ballet is the most popular choice in children” uses an unsuitable preposition. The phrase “which is double than the 300 figure” is also not grammatically well formed; use “twice the figure for” instead. In “Community halls and other location capture,” the plural subject requires a plural noun and verb form. Review subject–verb agreement, articles and comparative structures, and use punctuation consistently. Greater accuracy in these patterns would strengthen the otherwise clear communication.
