Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main location pattern, correctly reporting private studios as the largest share (48%) and college-based studios as the smallest (10%). You also compare the dance styles by age, noting that ballet is strongest among under-11s and modern among 11–16-year-olds. However, some key details are inaccurate or unclear: school halls are not the second-largest location if compared with community halls? They are 24%, ahead of community halls at 18%, so your ranking is correct, but the overview’s claim that students are “enrolled in both” locations is imprecise. The age overview is also misleading: “heavily skew young above 11–16” does not clearly describe the chart. Tap figures are described as having the “same ratio,” although the values differ slightly. State the main contrasts clearly and report the approximate figures accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic, useful structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for location and dance types. This helps the reader distinguish the two charts. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the final paragraph, where ballet, tap and modern are compressed into one long sentence. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” do not show a clear contrast between the charts, and “secondly as followed” and “Furthermore” are awkwardly connected. Improve cohesion by giving each dance style a clear comparison and using transitions that express the actual relationship between points. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise references would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “private studios,” “school halls,” “community halls,” “college studios,” and “age demographics,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “accounted for.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, as in “second demanding place,” “dance coaching,” and “same ratio.” “Adults” is also unsuitable for the 11–16 age group. Spelling errors such as “loaction,” “Morever,” and “childern” are noticeable, while “studies” appears to be an incorrect form of “studios.” These issues sometimes make the intended meaning harder to interpret. Build accuracy by learning common chart-reporting phrases and checking spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “it is clear that…” and a comparison using “compared to,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure and agreement appear in “most of students enrolled” and “those who attending,” while “ballet dance classes have almost 650 students with highest number…” lacks clear grammatical relationships between the ideas. The final sentence also joins several comparisons without reliable punctuation, making it difficult to identify which figures belong to each age group. Articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries need particular attention. Practise writing one complete comparison per sentence, then check that each clause has a clear subject and verb and that punctuation separates distinct points.
