The second highest place where dance classes are given in school halls, which are being held after the school time and there are almost 24% population in it. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report the main location figures accurately, including private studios as the largest share (48%) and college-based studios as the smallest (10%). You also identify the key age patterns: ballet is more popular among under-11s, while modern is more popular among 11–16-year-olds, and tap is fairly similar between the groups. However, there is no clear overall summary bringing the main features together, and the comparisons are not supported with figures from the dance-type chart. For example, the under-11 ballet figure is about 600 compared with 300 for older students, while modern is about 300 versus 520. The description of school halls as having “24% population” is also imprecise. Select and compare the most important data more explicitly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, sensible order: it introduces the charts, describes locations, and then turns to dance types. This gives the reader a general sense of how the information is organised. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive, with several sentences beginning “The second,” “The third,” or “The last,” and the response lacks a distinct overview to guide the reader through the main comparisons. Some linking is also awkward, such as “Also dance classes are separated…” and “Last one is Modern dance.” Use clearer paragraphing and a concise overview, then group related comparisons—for example, compare the two age groups across all three dance styles. This would make the organisation more purposeful and the connections between points easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary such as “private studios,” “school halls,” “ballet,” and “age group,” so the subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less precise. “24% population” does not describe the chart correctly; “24% of classes” or “a 24% share” would be more suitable. Likewise, “10% strength get the classes” and “some strength” are not natural ways to describe student numbers. There are also spelling errors, including “tupes,” “seperated,” and “laso.” Aim to use precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “number of students,” and “was more popular among,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentence forms, including “Ballet dance classes are being taken mostly by kids under 11 years and also there are…” However, the response relies mainly on simple structures, and errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “The second highest place where dance classes are given in school halls” is missing a linking verb or a clearer construction, while “there are almost 24% population in it” has an incorrect structure. The final sentence, “under 11 kids are half than the 11 to 16 years old,” also does not express the comparison grammatically. Practise accurate comparative forms (“about half as many as”) and use straightforward reporting structures such as “School halls account for 24%.”
