Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both charts and provide a clear overview: private studios are the most common location, while ballet is most popular among under-11s and modern among 11–16-year-olds. Most figures are accurately reported, including the 48%, 24%, 18% and 10% location shares, and the approximate comparisons for ballet and modern. This meets the task well, with some features developed more fully than others. However, the overview says “mostly people Under 11 like to do Ballet,” which is imprecise: ballet is the leading choice for that age group, but the chart does not show that most under-11 students take ballet. The tap comparison is useful, though the claim that the figures are “almost same” could be made more precise by noting the small difference between about 450 and 420.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two charts. This makes the main information easy to locate, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “The second graph” help signal the shift between topics. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven, and several linking expressions feel mechanical or unclear, such as “On the other side” and “But modern dance show the changes.” Some references also require the reader to infer the meaning, particularly “this segment” and “This figure is totally opposite of ballet.” Grouping each age group’s figures more systematically, then comparing the categories, would create smoother cohesion and clearer links between claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “private studios,” “college based studios,” “after Schooling hours,” and “age group,” so the subject is generally clear. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “dominated” and “contributed.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive: “one twice Part” does not express the intended proportion, “total attention” is unsuitable for a share of students, and “ballet dunce Classes” contains a spelling error. Several phrases, including “dance lecture” and “people … prefer to learn modern dancing,” are less natural for describing class attendance. More precise terms such as “accounted for,” “attended,” and “participation” would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including comparisons between age groups, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in sentence structure and grammatical control are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “The charts below shows” has subject–verb disagreement, while “Private studios dominated as a major location … because one twice Part of the students prefer” is not a complete, well-formed construction. There are also inconsistent verb forms and missing or incorrect articles, as in “The second graph illustrate” and “under 11 years students attendance.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly after full stops. Check agreement, sentence boundaries, and article use when editing.
