Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both charts and give a relevant overview: private studios are the most common location, while college-based studios are the least common, and you identify the contrasting preferences of the two age groups. The location figures are reported accurately. For the dance types, you give the under-11 figures correctly, but the comparison for ages 11–16 is incomplete: the chart shows about 520 students in modern, 420 in tap and 300 in ballet, yet you provide no figures for this group. Adding these values would make the comparison more fully supported. Also avoid saying that young people “love” particular classes; the chart reports attendance, not preferences or reasons for choosing a class.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, an overview and separate paragraphs for the location and dance-type data. This makes the main information reasonably easy to follow. However, some linking is mechanical or imprecise: “Following with” and “Similarly” do not clearly express the relationships between the figures, and the overview combines several comparisons in one long sentence. The final paragraph also repeats the age-group contrast without giving the older group’s figures. Use clearer transitions such as “By comparison” and organise each paragraph around a distinct set of comparisons. Check spacing after full stops and commas, as missing spaces make the presentation less fluent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main information, including “private studios,” “community halls,” “ballet” and “approximately.” However, the range is limited and some choices are informal or inaccurate for describing chart data. “Love” suggests personal preference, which the chart does not establish; “accounted for” or “represented” would be more suitable. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “dancicing,” “meawhile,” “poeple” and “aroun450,” which reduce the accuracy and polish of the report. Aim for precise reporting verbs and proofread carefully, especially for spelling and repeated words such as “of of.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence boundaries, articles and sentence construction. For example, “Among them the people from age group under 11…” is joined to several comparisons without clear punctuation, while “48 percent of of total” has an unnecessary repeated word and lacks a clear article before “total.” The opening phrase “in a town of Australia” also uses an awkward preposition pattern. Break long comparisons into shorter, controlled sentences, and check articles, prepositions and punctuation. These changes would make the relationships between the figures clearer while preserving your useful range of sentence forms.
