Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main location pattern accurately: private studios lead at 48%, while college-based studios are lowest at 10%, and you include the other location shares. You also compare the dance types across the two age groups. However, the account of the bar chart is incomplete and partly unclear: it gives no student figures, and the final comparison about tap is cut off (“almost same for o…”). The claim that ballet is the most popular “overall” is not supported by the chart, which shows it is highest only among under-11s; for ages 11–16, modern is highest. To make the summary more complete, report key approximate values and state the contrasting age-group patterns precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure, moving from an introduction to location information and then to dance types. “Overall” and “Regarding” help signal these sections, and the reader can follow the broad comparison. However, the location overview is crowded into one long sentence, with weak punctuation between the percentages, while the final sentence ends abruptly and leaves the tap comparison unfinished. Some links are also awkward, such as “and followed by school halls,” which makes the relationship between the figures less clear. Use separate, well-shaped sentences for the main location findings and each age-group comparison, and finish the final point so the progression feels complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “private studios,” “school halls,” “Ballet,” “Tap,” and “Modern,” and you attempt to vary wording with “preferred” and “interested.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “most interested dance type” describes the children’s feelings rather than the number attending, and “neutral” is not a suitable description of the tap figures. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “preferd,” “contibutes,” “intrested,” and “Collage.” Use precise terms such as “most popular” or “had the highest enrolment,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the opening sentence communicates the two chart topics. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. In “which are used after school have twenty four percentage,” the relative clause and main clause are joined without a clear grammatical structure. “Ballet is the most intrested dance type for children under eleven overall and it is least intrested…” also lacks a clear parallel construction and article use. Punctuation is sometimes missing between complete ideas, as in the location summary, and the final sentence is incomplete. Build comparisons with reliable patterns such as “Ballet was the most popular among under-11s, whereas…”, and check articles, clause boundaries, and sentence endings.
