Student answer (Band 5.5)

Today in numerous countries people can purchase edibale goods produced all over the globe. I believes this is a positive and negative development both. It allows people to experience various food and also plays a vital role in national economy. However, low quality creates multiple number of problems.

On the on hand, supermarkets provides easy access to people to enjoy different foods by exporting them from all over the world. Any individual can try his favourite food at his own place without travelling that palce. For instance, if someone desire to eat italian pasta he can purchase the specific engridents imported from Italy and cock it. Moreover, a country can implement tax on goods, while the country exporting food products benefits significantly.

On the other hand, it can be hard for authories such as national government, local authories and food department to check every product quality. Because often products adverties such information to meets the certain criteria to export food but originaly they lack the proper nutritions. Therefore, it can lead to various problems such as obesity, lack of protein. Governing authorites have to make rules and regulations to check the quality of food by testing them on certain benchmarks.

In the final analysis, it is evident that providing access to people to purchase different food is giving people an opportunity to eat foods from other part of world and also improving the financial stability of countries involve in importing and exporting the food, but it consequences should be considered. Obesity as it is hard for government to check every food properly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the issue and give a clear overall view that access to international food has benefits but also risks. The examples of trying Italian pasta at home and the economic benefits of food trade are relevant. However, the position is not fully consistent: “a positive and negative development both” presents a balanced view, while the conclusion mainly emphasises benefits and ends with an unclear reference to obesity. The economic point is asserted rather than explained, and the health concern would be stronger with a specific explanation of how poor-quality imports could cause these effects. Develop each main idea with a clearer chain of reasoning and make your final judgement explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a concluding paragraph. Signposts such as “On the other hand” help readers follow the change in viewpoint. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the sentence beginning “Because often products…” is a fragment, and the final sentence, “Obesity as it is hard for government…”, does not form a complete or clear conclusion. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “it” and “this” are not always precise. Connect each supporting detail explicitly to its main point, use complete sentences, and ensure the conclusion summarises your judgement rather than introducing a disconnected phrase.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “exporting,” “nutritions,” “financial stability,” and “rules and regulations,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise, such as “edibale goods,” “specific engridents,” “cock it,” and “multiple number of problems.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “check every product quality” and “foods from other part of world.” Aim to learn common topic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise phrasing would help distinguish food safety, nutritional value, and economic benefits.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example (“if someone desire to eat…”) and a clause introduced by “while.” However, errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “I believes” and “supermarkets provides,” missing or incorrect articles and plurals in “the certain criteria” and “other part of world,” and the fragment “Because often products…”. The conclusion also contains an incomplete construction: “Obesity as it is hard for government…”. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb, and review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex clauses.
