Student answer (Band 6.5)

In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to supermarket and buy food that produced all over the world . I completely believe that this is a positive develpment beacuse it helps people to get whatever they want and it boosts the country economy .

Firstly, i would like to talk about the facilitiy that is provided to the local people that they can get everytype of food they want at anytime just a few distance from the supermarket and house . The fruits and vegetables, thats are seasonal are available in market now a days while in past the people should faced difficulities to get thier desired food . For example , in modren era someone is sick they should not have to travel from one city to another or maybe in other country that is out of their range to get the diet food and this is one of the most major things that save our time and money .

Secondly, it also plays an important role to boosts the economy it increased the job opportunities , shops of different food and also improved the country relationships internationally because it increased import and export and this lead towards good reputation. For example, The Pakistan is known as one of the most famous country to produced tomatoes so it helps them to internationally recoganized .

In conclusion, supermarkets are the major blessing for local people in terms of job opportunities such as cashier , guards and many other well desrved jobs and it also save their money , utility and transport cost

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food is a positive development. The ideas regarding convenience and economic benefits are relevant. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the example regarding sick people needing 'diet food' is unclear and lacks logical connection to global food trade. Furthermore, the conclusion introduces new points (cashiers, guards) that were not previously discussed, which is a structural weakness. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea supported by clear, relevant examples rather than listing multiple points briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'in modren era' and 'this lead towards' are used as transitions, but the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between global food and the specific example of sick people is difficult to follow. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is quite brief and lacks a summary of the main points, making the overall progression feel slightly uneven.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'develpment', 'beacuse', 'facilitiy', 'modren', 'recoganized', and 'desrved'. While the meaning is generally clear, the word choice is often basic. The student relies on simple phrasing like 'get whatever they want' and 'major things'. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and improving spelling accuracy, as the current frequency of errors is noticeable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('food that produced', 'it increased the job opportunities'), missing articles ('go to supermarket', 'in market'), and incorrect verb forms ('people should faced'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and periods. While the student attempts complex sentences, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would significantly improve the clarity of the writing.
