IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.

Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In my opinion consumers going to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world is a positive development. I believe to keep the environment alive we have to stay connected with it. In todays world technology is already over ruling the human powers and efforts and people are getting lazy as AI is handling the work instead. However, it is a positive change but only for a help not in a way that people are now getting dependent upon the technology.

Stepping out and working has always been a refreshing act for every individual and going to a supermarket to buy food makes it more worthy. First thing is that you choose the perfect quality by yourself instead of facing any doubt or later regrets. Secondly, when you visit by yourself you have a wider chance to explore more and that's how you can stay connected to your surroundings while choosing the best for yourself. So its better that consumers go to the supermarket and buy food produced all over the world. It might have some pros and cons but there is nothing that is perfect in its way. But as explained above if its not an hustle for a person due to any personal reason or problem than it is one of the most positive development in any country and should be pass on to the countries that are still in a negative thought of such kind of developments.
