Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the availability of global food, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention both positive and negative aspects, the position is not clearly maintained throughout. The argument regarding the economy and infrastructure is somewhat tangential and lacks specific detail. Furthermore, the discussion on 'traditional food' and 'fast food' is underdeveloped and lacks clear logical links to the main topic of global food availability. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a clear, central argument that directly supports your stance, and provide more detailed, relevant examples to substantiate your claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is often weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'also' and 'many peoples'. The transition between the benefits of global food and the negative impacts on traditional culture is abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a more cohesive and coherent argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'many peoples' (should be 'many people'), 'gone abroad' (should be 'have gone abroad'), and 'tidyness' (which does not fit the context of health issues). The use of 'seven 11' and 'cosco' is informal and lacks the academic tone expected in an IELTS essay. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that you use words in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and sentence construction. For example, 'this essay will discuss the both view' contains a grammatical error, and there are issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces missing before commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and correct punctuation usage.
