Student answer (Band 6.0)
in today's world ,consumers can go to supermarket and buy food produced all over the world. actually it is common specially nowadays.first of all I would like to talk about this development .well ,it is a plus point that we go to some other countries and buy something so by doing this we can taste culture of this country and also we know about different things that are not available in our country but we can see those things in other countries .secondly I notice a positive point of buying something from other countries ,so when we go to their markets and we interact to their sales man and shopkeeper and we get opportunity to observe their language thie culture as well as their behaviour. in my opinion it is positive development but in some cases I think it is not good at some places it has negative impacts also. now I am going to talk about the negative point of buying something from other countries.when we go to other countries sometimes we don't know about their language and culture so culture change is a big minus point and we also have no idea about what nature is a person which is next to us .now I am going to share my experience. once I went to the germany with my family we went to a shop and sales man asking to us what do you want ,and we were totally shocked and start staring to each other he was talking in dutch but we don't know about dutch .to illustrate I would like to tell , on that day I realized buying something from the super market of other countries has negative as well as positive impacts.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the positive and negative aspects of global food availability. However, the interpretation of the task is slightly off-target. The prompt asks about the availability of global food in local supermarkets, whereas your response focuses on the experience of traveling to other countries to shop. This shift in focus limits the development of the core topic. While you state your position clearly, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack the depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure you stay focused on the specific scenario provided in the prompt rather than personal travel experiences.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is somewhat mechanical. You use basic transition words like 'first of all', 'secondly', and 'to illustrate', which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly when transitioning between the benefits of global food and the personal anecdote about traveling to Germany. The use of cohesive devices is repetitive, and the paragraphing could be more effectively utilized to separate distinct points. Improving the logical connection between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', 'things', and 'positive/negative point'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'what nature is a person', which hinders clarity. While you attempt to use some topic-related vocabulary, the range is not sufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more varied and precise vocabulary, such as 'globalization', 'cultural exchange', 'diversity', or 'accessibility', and avoid overusing simple descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and sentence construction, such as missing articles ('the germany') and run-on sentences. Subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency are also problematic (e.g., 'sales man asking to us'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, such as proper sentence boundaries and consistent verb forms, will significantly improve your score.
