Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the present times, in majority of nations consumers have an easy access to globaly produces food items which can be bought in supermarkets. Although this development can have certain setbacks, I believe that it is a positive development for the majority of citizens.
When consumers are provided with various choices in their dishes, it creates a sence of freedom to choose items of their liking in the customers. As a consumer, everybody wants to attain maximum satisfaction from the items bought in return of the money spent on buying the commodities. Wide variety to choose from often benefits consumers in achieving that satisfaction. To illustrate, many Indians enjoy eating Korean ramen from the brand buldak. This is made possible only through the availability of this perticular brand in the Indian markets.
Globalisation of food industry not only helps consumers but also the nations which get the opportunity to create demand for their product in other countries also. This benefits foriegn companies in making higher profits by increasing their sales and their consumer base outside their own nation. Furthermore, companies can popularise their food more when it is sold in other countries by advertising through social media platforms. Resulting in multinational companies which further strengthen the economy of the country. To exemplify, Lays has become a recognised brand worldwide in the chips category which is loved in various assian countries making the brand highly profitable.
In conclusion, consumers and food companies can both benefit by buying and selling global food items which makes this development positive.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food is a positive development. The ideas are relevant, focusing on consumer satisfaction and economic benefits for companies. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation regarding economic benefits is a bit repetitive, and the conclusion is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more depth, perhaps by discussing the potential downsides (such as environmental impact or local market competition) to provide a more balanced and comprehensive argument, even if you ultimately support the positive side.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To illustrate', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion', which help the flow. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally slightly awkward, such as in the sentence 'Resulting in multinational companies which further strengthen the economy'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences connect more fluidly would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'globalisation', 'commodities', and 'multinational'. However, there are several spelling errors ('globaly', 'sence', 'perticular', 'foriegn', 'assian') and some minor collocation issues, such as 'benefits foriegn companies in making higher profits'. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and using more precise collocations. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention, though they do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use some complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as missing articles ('in majority of nations', 'in Indian markets') and subject-verb agreement issues. Some sentences are also slightly fragmented or awkward in their construction. To achieve a higher score, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, particularly the use of articles and prepositions, which would make your writing more polished.
