Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, supermarket are located at different parts of the city, where we can get food products from all over the world. Consumers can enjoy taste of all type of food products at different location in the world. For me this is an positive development.
One of the major advantage of this development is that consumers can satisfy their want to taste different type foods, which can be easily available at one place. This is really helpful for consumers, as it save their most of the time. They can easily buy their type of products even while traveling which is an great benefit for travellers. For example, Rahul really loves to go on long bike trips which is around 15 days, he can't carry all 15 days luggage on a bike he can carry important stuffs but food and cloths he can buy from supermarkets whenever needed.
One more major benefit of Supermarket is that consumer can get discounts and sale on different festivals and season ending sales. The customers who cant afford all products can also enjoy the benefit, even the poorer can buy something useful for him or his close one's . For example huge supermarkets always bring new discounts and offers for their customers which can be helpful for low income earner to buy the products, also it can increase sales of the supermarket so its beneficial for both.
In conclusion, supermarket is an positive development in my point of view. I don't think it had any kind of negative effects.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the availability of global food products is a positive development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like the traveller 'Rahul' and the mention of discounts, these points are not fully explored in terms of the broader implications of global food trade. The conclusion is also quite brief and fails to acknowledge any potential counter-arguments, which would have helped to provide a more balanced and sophisticated discussion. To improve, aim to expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'One of the major advantage' and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there is a lack of variety in linking words. Some transitions are missing, making the progression of ideas feel a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'despite this') and ensure that your referencing is precise throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'supermarket', 'consumers', and 'discounts'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'taste of all type of food products' and 'low income earner'. There is also a lack of less common or more sophisticated vocabulary that would demonstrate a higher level of lexical control. Focusing on collocations and more precise academic terminology will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make errors with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'supermarket are located', 'it save their most of the time') and pluralisation (e.g., 'different type foods'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and punctuation, such as the unnecessary apostrophe in 'one's'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and precision of your writing. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical agreement and plural forms.
