Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to address the prompt effectively. While it touches on the topic of global food trade, the ideas are repetitive and lack clear development or logical support. The position is difficult to discern due to the fragmented nature of the arguments. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the task. The arguments regarding 'clear food' and 'infection' are unclear and do not provide a coherent analysis of the positive or negative developments of global food availability.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a logical structure. While there are paragraph breaks, the ideas within them do not progress in a meaningful way. There is a severe lack of cohesive devices, and the sentences are often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the repetition of phrases like 'that clear of the world' creates a mechanical and confusing reading experience. The overall arrangement of information is not coherent.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student relies on a small set of basic words, often using them incorrectly or in ways that do not convey the intended meaning (e.g., 'clear of food', 'not infection'). There is no evidence of less common lexical items or an attempt to use precise terminology related to global trade or food security. The frequent misuse of words and the lack of variety in word choice significantly impede communication throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting almost entirely of simple, error-prone sentence structures. There are frequent and systematic errors in basic grammar, including subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction (e.g., 'Supermarket that sell food', 'The two side than my opinion'). These errors are pervasive and often distort the meaning of the sentences, making the text very difficult to comprehend. There is no evidence of complex sentence structures or accurate punctuation.
