Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for an opinion on the development of global food availability in supermarkets, but the essay discusses fossil fuels and energy conservation. Because the student failed to address the prompt entirely, the task achievement score is significantly impacted. While the essay is structured as an argument, it does not respond to the specific question posed in the task instructions. To improve, it is essential to carefully read the prompt and ensure the content directly relates to the topic provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is well-structured with clear paragraphing and logical sequencing of ideas within the context of the energy topic. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion' are used effectively to guide the reader through the argument. The progression of ideas is logical, and the use of linking words is appropriate for an IELTS essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

There are some minor errors, such as 'industrial grow' (growth) and 'public awerness' (awareness), but these do not impede communication. The student demonstrates an ability to use a variety of words to express complex ideas, which is a strength, even though the topic chosen was incorrect for the task.
