Student answer (Band 6.0)
Supermarket is a market where we can find all the essential things at a place. In recent time, the consumers of many countries of the world usually go to the supermarket to purchase food. I think this is a positive development and my justification will be discussed below in this essay.
In the supermarkets, the customers have not go to different market for buy different kind of food products, so this is time saving option for their. In this era, time is the most valuable thing for all, and everybody try to highest uses of their time where the supermarket is the better market place to buy food goods then the naked market place in the perspective of the time. According to the report of The Daily Star, a Bangladeshi leading newspaper, “From the period of 2015- 2025, the 25% of people are more attractive to buy food products from the supermarket for their time savings.” So, I think the view of time savings, the supermarket attraction is the one of the positive development.
On the other hand, the customer like to go to the supermarket then the open market for the reason of the quality of the products. Somebody thought that open market is the best option for making purchase of food products.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position that the trend is positive, the essay is incomplete and stops abruptly in the third paragraph. The ideas regarding time-saving and product quality are introduced but not fully explored or supported with sufficient depth. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words to allow for a full introduction, two well-developed body paragraphs with clear examples, and a concluding summary. The current length prevents a full response to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at organization with paragraphing, but the progression is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. You use some cohesive devices like 'In recent time' and 'On the other hand', but the flow is hindered by the lack of a conclusion and the abrupt ending. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'for their', which should be 'for them'. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph transitions logically into the next, leading to a coherent final summary.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'essential things' and 'better market place'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'highest uses of their time' instead of 'making the best use of their time' and 'naked market place' instead of 'traditional open-air market'. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to global trade, consumer habits, and economic impacts, and focus on using words in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'customers have not go to different market' (should be 'do not have to go to different markets') and 'everybody try to highest uses' (should be 'everybody tries to make the best use'). Subject-verb agreement and pluralization errors are common. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and article usage before attempting more complex, error-prone sentence constructions.
