Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating that the availability of global food is a positive development. The ideas are relevant, focusing on health benefits, economic growth, and cultural exposure. However, the development of these points is somewhat superficial. For instance, the example regarding Indian youth eating avocados is specific but lacks a deeper explanation of how this impacts the broader global food market. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced analysis of the implications of global food trade, such as the environmental impact or the balance between local and imported goods.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'Last but not least', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. Additionally, there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'which way consumers can maintain their well-being'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by ensuring that sentences link more naturally to one another rather than relying on simple list-like connectors.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'global trade', 'nutritional', and 'well-being'. However, there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'advacned', 'technolgy', 'beacome', 'varitey', 'curiocity') and some awkward word choices, such as 'population can purchase' instead of 'consumers can purchase'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many countries are growen', 'fruits are very beneficial'), missing articles ('eat sam foods'), and awkward sentence construction ('which way consumers can maintain their well-being'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and the proper use of articles.
