Student answer (Band 6.0)
In todays modern era people are going to supermarkets to fullfill their needs of food by buying the food which is produced all over the world.
As we know that world is getting more advance and modern. And it is in the human nature to change time to time. If a person does not adopt the modern ways of living he can't adjust in today's modern world. And due to modern technologies nowadays
any type of food can be peoduced in type of seson. Supermarkets are also the examples of modern world, and these are made to provide facilities to the people.
Because of import and export many things including food can be transported to one country to another and with help of scientific methods like preservation of food, the food still remains fresh all the time.
And in my opinion buying food from supermarket is positive development. As I stated earlier that if you want survive and get succeeded in this world you have to adapt yourself according to the envirement. Technology is made for the people and it is up to the people how they use it.
For example, Supermarkets in my city are an experience themselves. A large chain of supermarket known as Metro, is situated near my home. And it have all the things that a person can magine. I was once loking for a phone charger which is only available in forigen countries but due to Metro I was able to get that from thier.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a positive view on the availability of global food products. However, the development of ideas is limited. The argument relies heavily on general statements about 'modernity' and 'technology' rather than specifically discussing the implications of global food trade, such as environmental impact, economic benefits, or cultural exchange. The example provided regarding a phone charger is irrelevant to the topic of food, which weakens the overall task response. To improve, ensure that all examples directly support the specific arguments made about food consumption and global trade.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt, and the connection between the ideas is often mechanical. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'As I stated earlier', 'For example'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or in a way that does not effectively link the arguments. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow of ideas is interrupted by the inclusion of irrelevant information, such as the anecdote about the phone charger, which disrupts the coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'todays', 'fullfill', 'peoduced', 'seson', 'envirement', 'forigen') and some awkward word choices (e.g., 'magine', 'thier'). The student relies on basic, repetitive vocabulary and struggles to use less common lexical items effectively. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and expanding their range of topic-specific vocabulary related to global trade, logistics, and consumer habits.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it have all the things'), article usage, and sentence fragments. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes and capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors occur throughout the text and require the reader to work harder to follow the intended message. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the score.
