Student answer (Band 6.5)

For ages, humans have been trading with other nations and regions and exchanging goods for the consumtion by the local people because in this ways they can access those products which they can not get from their own region. I strongly consider the notion as positive aspect for some reasons.

Initially, trading usually brings the new products in local markets and its also impact the inflation rate because this reduces the demand of those items due to their excessive reach and the salers have to reduce the prices just because of oversupply of goods. For example, mangos are usally very expensive in UK because they import them but sometimes just because of oversupply the local markets reduce the prices for buyers and it ulimately brings a positive impact in sociaty and also helps in the reduction of inflation which financially give some support for the residents.

Secondly, the specific food brought from the other regions of the world is sometimes available in more good quality then its home country which also brings health benefits and strengthen the consumer's trust on the imported items. This development also strengthen the bilateral relations between both nations just because of these kinds of trades. For instance, many countries usually import items only for the purpose of quality of food and for making more good relations.

In conclusion, I reach to this point that our supermarkets should contains food from all over the world for providing ultimate benefits to the consumer as a good deed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the development is positive. The ideas regarding economic benefits (inflation reduction) and quality/bilateral relations are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument about inflation is logically shaky, as importing goods does not necessarily reduce inflation in the way described. The conclusion is also quite brief and lacks a summary of the main points. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced explanations and ensure your examples are more logically sound and clearly linked to the main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Initially', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. There are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'in this ways they can access'. While the logical progression is generally clear, the connection between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'consumtion' (spelling), 'salers' (should be 'sellers'), 'sociaty' (spelling), and 'more good quality' (should be 'better quality'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and relies on basic descriptors. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure accurate spelling of common terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('supermarkets should contains') and incorrect preposition usage ('in this ways'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would be highly beneficial.
