Student answer (Band 5.5)
As the world population increasing, The People are migrating to different parts of the world to fulfil their needs and desires. Nowadays, The countries are trying to progress in food sector. They are trying to availability of all kinds of foods in markets people liked to eat. In international countries where people mainly go to buy some grocery in supermarket, There are a lot of number of the people who related to other continents like Asia and Africa. They wanted to get their favorite food items to make tasty dishes.
In my opinion, I think it is a positive development happening in the progressive countries. Every person has a right to eat what he wills. No one can stop him to do this. If countries are doing something related to the food availability, it is a good approach. Now I am describing it using reason and example from my life to support this argument.
The main reason of this development, consumers want to get things with own will. They think that it is source of surety. That's why it is better for them. Two years ago, I lived in the London due to studies. One day, I went to supermarket to do some grocery with my friend. Before it, My friend said to me that we don't need to go market. We can order it online. But I refused him. I convinced him to go with me to market. I chose all things carefully. After sometimes My friend understood my point.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a position, but the development of ideas is weak. While you mention that global food availability is a positive development, the supporting arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the anecdote about shopping in London is personal and lacks a clear connection to the broader economic or cultural implications of global food trade. The essay focuses more on the act of shopping than on the 'positive or negative development' aspect requested by the task. To improve, you should focus on broader impacts such as cultural exchange, economic growth, or environmental concerns, rather than personal shopping habits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps the structure, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical, such as 'The main reason of this development' or 'Before it'. Some sentences feel disconnected from the previous ones, making the flow of the argument difficult to follow. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs lacks logical cohesion. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the readability of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'food sector', 'good approach', and 'do some grocery'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'international countries' instead of 'foreign countries' or 'in the London' instead of 'in London'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but it is often used incorrectly or lacks the precision required for a higher band score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with article usage ('The People', 'the London'), subject-verb agreement ('As the world population increasing'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly. Proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency would also be very beneficial.
