Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the availability of global food products and taking a clear position that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding the convenience of global food and the concerns about food quality are presented but lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The essay tends to over-generalize, and the reasoning is sometimes difficult to follow due to the lack of logical progression. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with more detailed explanations and clearer, more relevant examples to support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by unclear phrasing and awkward transitions. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'On the one hand', 'In addition', 'In conclusion'), they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly, which hinders the overall progression of ideas. The referencing is sometimes confusing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'did not visited the country or do expensens' and 'food is fixed of chemical'. These errors sometimes impede communication, as the intended meaning is not always clear. To reach a higher band, you should work on using a wider range of vocabulary, including less common items, and focus on using words in their correct context. Pay closer attention to word forms and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and sentence structure. For example, 'many nation in which consumers thinks' and 'supermarket sale the various kind of food'. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty and lead to confusion. The majority of sentences contain errors, which frequently strain the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
